Sand & cement rendering
The traditional, hard-wearing choice for houses, extensions and garden walls, finished smooth or textured and ready to paint.
Discuss your project →Clean, weather-ready render for houses and extensions, from a tidy, fully insured team. We can paint it too, so the outside of your home is finished by one company.
New render changes how a house looks from the street and protects the walls from Welsh rain. The result depends on preparation, the right system for the wall and good weather to cure in.
We assess the wall first, explain the options and give you a clear written quote. Because we’re painters and decorators too, we can finish the job with masonry paint and handle fascias, sills and doors at the same time.
Full house renders, extensions, garden walls and repairs across Cardiff and the surrounding area.

Discuss your project →Through-coloured, thin-coat renders that don’t need painting, shrug off rain and keep their colour with very little upkeep.
Discuss your project →Cracked, blown and hollow render cut out and patched, then painted with breathable masonry paint so the repair disappears.

Rendering usually comes with other exterior work: painting the new render, refreshing fascias and soffits, sills and the front door. We plan it as one job, so the scaffold goes up once and every part of the finish matches.
We work across Cardiff, from Victorian terraces in Roath and Canton to 1930s semis in Whitchurch and Rhiwbina and newer homes in Pontprennau, and we’re based on Newport Road in CF24.
It depends on the wall, the look you want and how much upkeep you’re happy with. Sand and cement is traditional and is usually painted. Silicone renders and K Rend are through-coloured and need very little maintenance. We’ll look at the wall and explain the options in your quote.
Often, yes. If the existing pebbledash is sound, it can be prepared and rendered over. Any loose or hollow areas are taken back first so the new render bonds properly.
Render needs dry weather and temperatures above freezing while it cures, so rendering is best planned for the warmer months. We’ll agree dates with you and keep an eye on the forecast.
Rendering a house is often allowed without planning permission, but it can depend on the property, for example in conservation areas or on listed buildings. Check with your local council if you’re unsure.
