1. About Us
These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of painting and decorating services by Neart Decorating ("we", "us", "our"), based at 357 Newport Rd, Cardiff CF24 1RN. Contact us at info@neartdecorating.co.uk or 029 2168 0320.
2. Quotations
All quotations are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. A quote is not a binding contract until both parties have agreed in writing (including by email or message). We reserve the right to revise a quote if the scope of work changes materially from what was originally described.
3. Booking and Deposit
A deposit may be required to secure your booking, as stated in your written quote. The deposit amount will be confirmed at the time of booking. Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled start date.
4. Our Responsibilities
We agree to:
- Carry out all work to a professional standard using appropriate materials
- Arrive at the agreed times and dates
- Keep the work area as clean and tidy as reasonably possible
- Inform you promptly of any issues that arise during the work
- Hold valid public liability insurance
5. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Ensure reasonable access to the property at agreed times
- Remove or protect valuables and personal belongings in the work area
- Provide accurate information about the property and the scope of work
- Notify us of any known hazards (e.g. asbestos, lead paint, structural issues)
- Make payment by the agreed due date
6. Payment Terms
Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise stated in your quote. We accept bank transfer and cash. Invoices unpaid after 14 days may incur a late payment charge of 5% per month. We reserve the right to suspend or cease work if invoices remain unpaid.
7. Variations and Additional Work
Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be agreed in writing before the additional work begins. We will provide a revised price for any additions. We are not obliged to carry out work outside the original scope without agreement on price and timing.
8. Completion and Snagging
On completion you should inspect the work and notify us of any defects or omissions within 5 working days. We will return to remedy any genuine defects at no additional cost. After this period, any new issues may be subject to a separate call-out charge.
9. Guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from completion. This covers defects in application that arise under normal conditions. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by the customer, third parties, structural movement, or normal wear and tear.
10. Cancellation
You may cancel a booking by giving us at least 5 working days' notice, in which case any deposit will be refunded in full. Cancellations with less than 5 working days' notice may result in loss of deposit to cover our costs.
11. Liability
Our liability to you is limited to the value of the contract for the work carried out. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
